Very Reverend Volodymyr Bukata Award

Award presented

To a Junior member and is considered the Junior Orthodox of the Year award

The award was first established as the Junior Orthodox of the Year Award and is presented annual to a Junior Chapter member for outstanding work done to further the aims and ideas of the Ukrainian Orthodox League.  In 1966, the name was officially changed to the Very Reverend Volodymyr Bukata Memorial Award as a tribute to the late Father Bukata’s dedication to the Ukrainian Orthodox League.  Father Bukata was the first spiritual advisor of the League, translator of our Ukrainian Orthodox prayer book into English, and a staunch defender of the Ukrainian cause.  The benefactress of the award is his widow, Pani Bukata, who during her lifetime will make his memory eternal in the form of the Very Reverend Volodymyr Bukata Memorial Award.
